At Rondex, we get a lot of questions about auto body supplies. Many of them focus on body paint. Though we are happy to answer questions about the specifics of different brands, how best to protect them and more, we also know many of you like to stay informed about current trends.
Most people put a lot of thought into their car paint and for good reason. You’re going to be stuck with it for years and driving it regularly, so you better make sure you’re happy with your choice.
Many experts in the auto industry have said for a long time that green would become the new colour of choice. BASF—a leader in the car paint industry—released their prediction last summer that green would experience newfound popularity. According to their experts, green represented, among other things,” individuality, responsibility, growth and new beginnings.”
They also believed other earthy tones like blue and brown would find favour in the coming months.
However, at the moment, those predictions are far from coming true. In fact, the same colours BASF predicted would take a backseat are proving as popular as ever.
These colours include black, white and silver and when it comes to people purchasing new cars, they’re front and centre in terms of popularity. Of them, white is the favourite. It’s reported that one in four new cars purchased have a white paint job. Black claims one in five. Grey and silver aren’t far behind.
So if you’re the type of person to lose their car in a parking lot, then green, blue or brown might be your best bet. On the other hand, if you favour the popular opinion, you can’t go wrong with white or black.
Either way, at Rondex, our collection of body shop supplies includes paints of all colours. Whether you want to fit in or stand out, we can help.
